Party at the Avenue

Party at the Avenue was a great success. Co-hosted by The Ten Pound Fiddle, the event kicked off our fall pledge drive.

The night began with the Tia Imani Hanna Project. The thoughtful, introspective jazz outfit beamed while playing their songs. Front-woman Tia may also be familiar to longtime WLNZ listeners–she used to host The Vinyl Side of Midnight, which is currently hosted by Mike Stratton.

After the Tia Imani Hanna Project left the stage, The Springtails kept things going with sweet love songs and an energetic performance. Jen Sygit, hostess of Eclecticana on LCC Radio and a performer in her own right, joined them on stage for one song.

The third band of the night, The Crane Wives, took the stage moments before 8PM. Their memorable set was energetic, vivacious, and gorgeous. They’re the real deal!

The night ended with Who Hit John?, an old-timey band of stringed instruments and fun vocals. The crowd was appreciative and gave the Who Hit John? guys a big round of applause.

The Ten Pound Fiddle deserves a lot of the credit for tonight, and we are so grateful to have been able to partner with them. The Avenue Cafe is such a wonderful venue, and we count ourselves fortunate that they were willing to let us put on Party at the Avenue.
