Common Ground Comes to LANSING
Common Ground is currently in its 15th year of festivities and it comes to Lansing, Michigan once a summer for a week long adventure with artist line ups that could surprise you. Common Ground also supports non-profit organizations, raising over $400,000 to contribute to the community. The festival helps to support organizations like the local Michigan YMCA’s, Childrens Trust Fund, Meals on Wheels, Butterflies of Hope, Sparrow Foundation, and more.
The artists involved in the Common Ground festival for July 2014 include Violent Femmes who have a platinum album and have been active since 1981 as acoustic punk and folk punk band. Fitz and The Tantrums who are considered a neo soul/indie pop band. Jukebox the Ghost is a three-piece indie-pop bad from metro-area DC, Earth Wind & Fire for you Jazz fans, Flobots who are rock and hip-hop they are know for their song Handlebars. OPM (opening peoples minds), So So Glos a punk band, and more.
Common Ground is the second week of July, going from July 8th till July 13th 2014.
